We have taken a couple trips to Flattop. The first one was during a cool and windy day when Henry and Nathan bagged Blueberry Hill. The second one pictured below is at the river running alongside the powerline trail. Joe and I have stricter rules during "hikes". One rule is that we do not pick up the kids. They walk the whole way on their own (at a slow pace) and do great. They need to build up their baby quads. Nate and Henry love seeing all the dogs out on walks at Flattop.

When I was young I remember Joe's mom telling me that when she first moved to Alaska she and Bubz would go for long walks in the woods. Then the first baby came along, and they'd pop him into a military issue backpack, and still go for long tramps in the woods. Second baby came along, and they'd put one in each backpack and off they'd go. Then the third one arrived, and they quit going for long walks together, as they'd run out of backs. She never did get back into the habit of walking, but stuck close to home thereafter--by the time Joe was born she was too out of shape to be interested any more.
'build up their baby quads' ... I love it!!! H & N are totally going to kick my butt going up Blueberry Hill! Bring It!
See you in a few weeks (I arrive Sept 11:)!
