10 months old

We have come a long way since this time last year when I made my first trip to the hospital for pre-term labor! So glad that those days are over and far behind us. Now Joe and I have beautiful 10 month old baby boys that have 2 teeth, are crawling, can pull to a stand, cruise around furniture and make us laugh. Henry and Nathan were so worth it!

Scott & Katie

We were lucky to be able to visit with our friends, Scott and Katie, while they were in Alaska for a week of vacation. These two have been working and living in Baku, Azerbaijan for the past year. We hope they come back to AK soon!

Daredevils

We have a couple thrill seekers on our hands. One of their new favorite games is to be pushed on the toy car. The thrill part comes with speed and crashing into toys on the floor. Nathan (in red) is having the time of his life. Henry (in blue) likes to go single handed - rodeo style.

At the pool

On warm days we take the inflatable tub outside on the deck so that H&N can play in the "pool". Besides having fun, they also get nice and clean. Here they are splashing it up with Joe.

As a result of their constant effort to be mobile and independent, H&N began sliding around the house backwards. While not what they were hoping for, at least they could get around to new areas of the house. It was all fun and games until someone got stuck under the furniture.

The boys are taking it quite well. They always get giggly and cute right before bed. It's their best ploy to try to stay up late.

Last night together

Henry and Nathan snuggle in the crib. They don't know that it will be their last night together (July 28). Even though they are sleeping soundly, you can see that they are getting large and need more room.

Nate and Henry laugh hysterically at Joe coughing. He fake coughed so long that he gave himself a sore throat. It was the funniest thing N&H had heard in a long time.

The heat will drive us out

The heat will drive us out of Alaska! Well, that's what we heard someone say once, but he was a little strange. Our day at the Saturday Market in downtown Anchorage was a scorcher. Another fun activity with Grandma in town.

Summer Daze

Enjoying the summer heat on the deck. Babies are airing out their A's while playing with toys.

First Haircuts!!!

The first baby haircuts occurred on August 27. We took them to the Northern Lights Barber Shop where Joe is a regular. Grandma was there to witness the event. :) Even she agreed that their hair was too wild, and it was distracting from their cuteness.

Bird Creek

My mom (aka Cathy or Grandma) came to visit in late July. We had lots of fun and more pictures will follow. Here we are checking out Bird Creek just south of Anchorage.

We are getting caught up on some pictures from July. Here we are taking a bath in the new inflatable tub. It can go anywhere, even outside! Henry is in the midst of his shampoo while Nathan looks on.

Chicken helmets

Henry and Nathan are in an unusually good mood considering that they are wearing their bike helmets. They normally hate them and will cry until the bike starts rolling. The helmets are yellow with white chicks on the front. Their heads only recently grew large enough to fit into these. So far we have taken two bike rides from our house to downtown and back. My quads are going to be huge!

ELC fun

H&N are getting much more mobile and baby proofing the house is becoming a priority. Henry is able to crawl and can easily pull himself to a stand. He likes to use Nathan as something to push up on which does not go over very well. Nate is not far behind - he is happy to watch Henry and learn from his mistakes.
